IGCSE (Cambridge Curriculum)

Cambridge IGCSE is the world’s most popular international qualification for 14 to 16 year olds. It is

recognised by leading universities and employers worldwide, and is an international passport to

progression and success. Developed over 25 years ago, it is tried, tested and trusted by schools

worldwide. The Cambridge IGCSE curriculum offers a variety of routes for learners with a wide

range of abilities, including those whose first language is not English. We help schools build a

curriculum around their specific needs. Starting from a foundation of core subjects, it is easy to add

breadth and cross-curricular perspectives. Encouraging learners to engage with a variety of

subjects, and make connections between them, is fundamental to our approach. For schools,

Cambridge IGCSE offers a flexible and stimulating curriculum, supported with excellent resources

and training.

Why study Cambridge IGCSE ?

Cambridge  is widely recognised by higher education institutions and employers around the world as

evidence of academic achievement. Many universities require a combination of Cambridge

International A Levels and Cambridge IGCSEs to meet their entry requirements. Leading US and

Canadian universities require Cambridge International AS and A Levels, but some US and Canadian

colleges and universities will accept learners with five Cambridge IGCSEs at grade C or above.

Check the admissions policy of individual institutions for more information. In the UK, Cambridge

IGCSE is accepted as equivalent to the GCSE. When applying to UK universities, it is essential that

students can communicate effectively in English and are able to do so in an academic environment.

Cambridge IGCSE English Language qualifications are recognised by a significant number of UK

universities as evidence of English language competency for university study. We strongly advise

students to check the English language requirements of their selected universities and individual

departments/faculties prior to submitting an application because these requirements can differ

depending on whether you are applying from within the UK, within the EU or EEA, Switzerland, or

from overseas.
